As part of 400 Seconds, a new presentation format initiated by Türkiye Tasarım Vakfı at Kuzguncuk İskele, we presented “Constructing Immaterial Space”, an ongoing inquiry developed through İlişimler Kolektifi.
Together with Ayçin Atukeren and Tolga Aydoğdu, I explored how space can be understood beyond its physical and material boundaries- as a condition continuously constructed through sensory and cognitive perception. The presentation examined how visual, auditory, spatial and tactile components come together to form an integrated spatial experience, while questioning the changing role of the participant from a receiver of space to an active part of its production.
The presentation traced this inquiry through selected works developed by İlişimler Kolektifi, including NORM, NOTR and AION, examining how generative systems, projection, sound and interaction can produce spatial conditions that continuously transform in relation to their participants.
Within the compressed 400-second format, Constructing Immaterial Space offered a reflection on immateriality not as the absence of space, but as an evolving relationship between perception, body, interaction, and technology.
